STATEMENT
Ming is currently based in Utrecht, the Netherlands. Her artistic practice constructs alternative narratives that draw from daily political life with a decolonial and feminist perspective. Working with minimalist imagery and social movement archives, her long-term research intertwine abstract art and the recent past political oppression. She experiments with art forms that endure in rapidly shifting political climates. Layered with installations, videos, and publications, Her work portrays resistance stories that have hidden in histories.

Since 2022, Lo Yuen Ming has co-founded The Vacuum Landscape, a post-(de)colonial art collective composed of artists from Asia. Their practice involves archive curation, publications, workshops, and visual art creation. Unfolding the aesthetics of landscape within the political context of land rights. Their research address the realities of displacement and solidarity with ongoing resistance movements, narrating the present from the past dominance times.
